Confronting Urban Violence Globally and Locally
Together with partners around the globe and in San Diego, CA, the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice works to reduce urban violence and its root causes to foster safer, more peaceful urban communities. With our local and global focus, the Kroc IPJ is able to increase visibility on a range of applied research tools and approaches to address violence.
Peace in Our Cities is a global network of 22 cities and 40 organizations—representing over 25 million people —who are working together to achieve a 50% reduction in urban violence by 2030. The Kroc IPJ co-facilitates the network alongside the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies; and the Stanley Center for Peace and Security.
The work of the Kroc IPJ in San Diego has been made possible through funding from the United States Department of Justice's Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative and the California Board of State and Community Corrections.
