Nyla Baxter-Williamson is the Lead Organizer for the San Diego Black Worker Center, an organization advocating for economic justice for Black workers. Born and raised in San Diego, she discovered her passion for serving her community from her involvement as an intern at the ACLU-SDIC and volunteering with San Diego Refugee Tutoring. Prior to joining the SDBWC, Nyla worked as a homeschool teacher and tutor. She attended UCLA and received her B.A. with a major in Gender Studies and minor in Global Studies in 2021. Nyla is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
