Evidence of Student Learning

The University of San Diego is committed to assessing student learning outcome achievement to produce evidence of undergraduate and graduate academic excellence. USD's Catholic intellectual tradition ensures students have intentionally designed opportunities to cultivate knowledge, values, skills, and practices that contribute to personal development, professional accomplishment, community service, and financial viability in a changing world. Student learning outcome assessment findings provide USD faculty and staff with data and information to evaluate our progress, validate our continued successes, and inform specific areas for improvement.

Each academic program is student-centered, identifying learning outcomes and evaluating data within the undergraduate and graduate degree programs. We employ assessment methodology that is meaningful and relevant. We engage in collaborative discussion regarding the implications of findings, whether these result in curricular restructuring, course/program content and design revisions, the implementation of new instructional practices, or the provision of targeted professional development.

Academic program learning outcomes can be found on each department/academic program website.

Recent academic year summaries of program student learning outcomes assessments and decisions made from the evidence derived are available within the password protected University's shared Google drive and Nuventive Improve.
