BSN to PhD Program

Admission Criteria

  • BSN degree from an approved, accredited school
  • Current California RN licensure
  • One year of clinical experience preferred
  • Basic statistics course
  • Basic nutrition course  (Only required for the Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist) 
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Completion of the university application for the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Program
  • One official transcript from each college or university attended
  • Three professional recommendations (including two from nurses with doctoral degrees)
  • An example of scholarly writing (thesis, article, paper)
  • Resume/CV
  • Interview (qualified applicants will be contacted to interview based on initial review of their application)
  • International applicants must meet additional requirements for admission

The priority application deadline is January 15 for fall admission. All materials must be received by the priority deadline to receive priority consideration.
