Ramiro Frausto serves as the Associate Dean for the University of San Diego’s Institute of College Initiatives, which provides college access services to over 700 first-generation and low-income students. With 18 years of experience across all three of the university’s TRIO programs — McNair Scholars, Student Support Services, and Upward Bound — he has supported students in high school through graduate studies.
As a proud first-generation college graduate, McNair alumnus, and son of immigrants, he intimately understands education’s ability to break cycles of poverty and transform lives. Thus, he dedicated his career to advocating for students historically excluded from higher education.
