Instructional Designer
Jeff has been working in the field of online education since the early 2000s after being employed for 6 years within NASA Ames Research Center’s Educational Technology Team, helping to create STEM multimedia experiences for students in K-12. He then moved back to San Diego and has worked as an Instructional Designer ever since, specializing in the creation of online courses in higher education. More recently, he has returned to his alma mater, USD, and continues to focus on creating online courses with a stress on authentic learning and personalized and immersive content.
He is also pursuing his Ph.D. here at USD in Leadership with an emphasis on Higher Education. His research interests include assessing the ability of students to process feedback and think critically in different modalities: From comparatively simple online multiple-choice testing to branching scenarios to eventually researching and applying immersive virtual and augmented reality environments to online learning.
