Katie Ciccarelli currently serves as Associate Director of International Studies Abroad at the University of San Diego, where she brings over 15 years of experience in undergraduate and graduate level study abroad, global program development, higher education leadership, and internationalization strategic planning. She is passionate about supporting students and faculty in accessing global learning opportunities. She is recognized for her collaborative leadership style, commitment to student success, and dedication to fostering inclusive, high impact cross-cultural experiences.

A proud USD alumna, she earned her International Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the School of Business in 2007 and earlier in her career, served the university as Associate Director of the Ahlers Center for International Business and Adjunct Professor of Management, teaching International Comparative Management. 

Before returning to USD, Katie was Executive Director of the Institute for Global Enterprise at the University of Evansville, where she expanded student and faculty engagement, launched international experiential programs, and strengthened campus and international partnerships. Her leadership contributed to the university’s designation as an Ashoka Changemaker Campus for its innovative work in global education, interdisciplinary programming, and social entrepreneurship.

Katie’s education is founded in liberal arts, as she holds a B.A. in Art History and Italian from the University of California, Davis, and is fluent in Italian. She remains active in professional and civic life, having served on committees related to international education and civic engagement. Outside of work, she enjoys playing water polo and tennis, reading, and exploring the world through international travel.
