About USD and the Kroc School of Peace Studies
At the University of San Diego, we incorporate our Changemaker mission into everything we do. We’re committed to inclusivity, diversity, social justice, and the ability to make a positive difference in the world. Our goal is to empower individuals to lead purposeful lives.
The Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies at USD was the first stand-alone school of peace studies in the United States, dedicated to addressing some of the greatest challenges of our time — preventing violence and building peace with justice. The Kroc School offers a Master of Arts in Social Innovation and hosts the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice (Kroc IPJ) and the Center for Restorative Justice.

I’m already very familiar with the work of USD, the Kroc School, and the seminar faculty and their efforts to increase sustainability in organizations in San Diego and throughout the world. The Global Executive Seminar’s founders share my belief that we need to seek and highlight promising solutions wherever they might arise, and I look forward to working in concert with them and the cohort of seminar participants, now and in the future.
About the Global Executive Seminar
This Global Executive Seminar provides on-site and real-time interaction with USD faculty and C-Suite leaders from highly successful certified B Corporations, certified employee-owned companies, and successful non-profits with social enterprises in Southern California, Spain, and Rwanda. The seminar is designed to offer networking with executives from government, business, and NGOs as part of a robust, innovative curriculum that optimizes learning and direct experience.
The seminar’s three faculty members, all professors at USD who are steeped in the concepts and places covered in the seminar, created this executive certificate program because they saw a need to enable professionals in any industry to absorb and apply the ‘business for good’ practices already proven in Spain, Rwanda, and San Diego.

Global Executive Seminar Cohort 1, 2025
As the leader of a successful Certified B Corp, I appreciate the need for people who not only have the desire to be part of more socially engaged organizations but also have acquired some practical tools and skills to contribute. The USD Global Executive Seminar seems like a terrific option for professionals who are serious about using models like Benefit Corporations to make a real difference in the world.
