Cybersecurity today is more than an IT concern — it’s a core business and governance priority. As threats grow more sophisticated, so must the leaders who navigate them. USD’s Cybersecurity Executive Programs prepare business, legal and technical leaders to manage risk, guide teams and shape secure digital strategies. These offerings blend executive insight with technical depth, drawing from our advanced graduate programs — including the MS in Cybersecurity Engineering — to deliver a truly integrated experience. Participants explore cyber governance, compliance and AI-driven defense in a collaborative, real-world setting. From regulatory shifts to intelligent automation, our programs help leaders stay ahead of the curve and confidently drive cyber resilience across their organizations.

Cyber Law & Risk Symposium
The USD Cyber Law & Risk Symposium is the annual flagship gathering of professionals at the forefront of cybersecurity, legal risk, governance, compliance, and innovation. Now in its 7th year, this highly anticipated event continues to unite legal, business, tech, academic, insurance, and public sector leaders from across the country for a full day of meaningful engagement, expert insight, and interdisciplinary collaboration. In the spirit of our 2025 theme, Rising Tides, we embrace the belief that rising tides lift all boats — that by advancing knowledge, collaboration, and resilience, we elevate and unite our cybersecurity community.
Attendees can expect a dynamic mix of keynote addresses, expert panels and mock legal trials — each designed to unpack real-world challenges in cybersecurity governance, AI regulation, privacy law and organizational risk. Whether you're a seasoned CISO, in-house counsel, board member or policy leader, the symposium delivers practical insight and meaningful collaboration in a rapidly shifting digital landscape. The symposium will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice Theatre from 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Cybersecurity Executive Program
The USD Cybersecurity Executive Program is being redesigned as a premier leadership experience for non-technical executives navigating the challenges of today’s complex cyber landscape. Originally launched in 2017 with key regional partners in law enforcement and homeland security, the program is now being reimagined to better meet the needs of today’s senior decision-makers — with a focus on executive-level strategy, governance and resilience in the digital age.
Launching Spring 2026, the new program will meet over six consecutive Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and will deliver practical, high-level instruction on cyber risk strategy, privacy and regulatory obligations, crisis management, board-level reporting and the transformative impact of emerging technologies, like AI. Designed for senior leaders in business, law, government, healthcare and critical infrastructure, this program empowers participants with the insight and fluency needed to lead confidently in an increasingly digitized and high-risk world.
Co-sponsorships and Strategic Partnerships
As part of its expanding mission, CCSEET is proud to co-sponsor a growing number of high-impact cybersecurity events across the region and nation. In both 2024 and 2025, CCSET has collaborated with industry, academic and government partners to support conferences, forums and symposia that advance critical conversations around cybersecurity, privacy, risk and innovation. Through these partnerships, CCSET contributes thought leadership, academic expertise and strategic visibility to events that align with our mission to educate, inform and lead in the cybersecurity space.
USD's Center for Cybersecurity Engineering and Technology welcomes inquiries from organizations interested in co-sponsoring their upcoming cybersecurity events with us. If your organization is planning a cybersecurity-focused conference or forum, we invite you to connect with us to explore opportunities for collaboration.
Cybersecurity Mixers
Held once a year, the USD Cybersecurity Mixer brings together students, alumni and leading industry professionals for an evening of insight, networking and opportunity. Featuring a panel discussion with cybersecurity thought leaders, this event offers students a front-row seat to current trends, hiring practices and the evolving landscape of cyber careers.
This year's mixer provides a unique platform for organizations to meet and engage with USD’s graduating cybersecurity students — offering employers early access to top talent ready to enter the workforce. Whether you're preparing to launch your cyber career or looking to recruit from one of San Diego’s most promising talent pipelines, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Join us at the Joan B. Kroc Institute of Peace and Justice Theatre on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
