Since 2021, Miko has been an advocate for students navigating the complexities of the education system, both in K-12 and higher education. Having transitioned from Riverside City College to UC Riverside for his undergraduate studies, he has lived experience of the transfer process and challenges. He has also worked with high school students navigating the college application process and preamble to entering higher education as first-year students. Miko has spent years building welcoming communities within various UCR departments and recently expanded his expertise through an internship at Buffalo State University. He focuses on providing support for both students and their supporters to aid the transition into higher education. When he’s not at work, Miko loves playing music, reading books, traveling, and spending time with his family and pets.
