A proud USD alumna, Emily Bolender graduated from USD with a BA in history. Bolender’s time at USD was characterized by her participation in the Honors Program, the Pep Band and the Humanities Center Keck Fellows where she researched Norse law using primary references in Iceland. She also holds an MA in history from UCLA, where she researched Medieval Italian Law through an interdisciplinary lens. Prior to returning to USD, Bolender explored a myriad of different roles, from coordinating volunteers on an archeological dig in Ireland to developing content for an Advanced Placement review software.
As an Academic Advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences, Bolender provides academic support and counseling to undergraduate students. She also assists students in fulfilling graduation requirements, exploring the Core and registering for courses. She deeply believes in the importance of interdisciplinary research and collaboration and encourages students to use their liberal arts education in the pursuit of uncommon paths.
