Jersten Seraile (He/Him/His) is an educator and playmaker whose mission is to support positive and environments for people of all backgrounds to thrive. As a playmaker he assisted on the Old Globe productions of Shutter Sisters and Henry IV Part One. Directed the 2022 Spring production at University of San Diego titled Pieces of Me. And will direct Heroes of the Fourth Turning next. As an actor he appeared in Pooling to Paradise at NYC’s Emerging Artist Theatre. Old Globe Theatre credits include: As You Like It, Romeo & Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest, and many others. Mr. Seraile made his Off-Broadway debut playing Langston Hughes in his one-man production of Harlem Blooms in Spring at Theatre Row. He is pleased to join the University of San Diego Theatre Department as an Assistant Professor teaching both in the Old Globe MFA program and theatre undergraduates. Some university assignments include teaching Acting IV in the MFA program and teaching a Special Topics course titled Devising a Solo Performance. In addition, Mr. Seraile is a proud member of Reflecting Shakespeare where he has worked with youths at La Mesa Community School to understand themes found in Shakespeare. He is a recipient of the William Male Foundation grant, the Billops-Hatch Fellowship at Emory University, and Diversity Postdoctoral Fellowship at USD. He received his M.F.A. from USD / Old Globe Darlene Shiley Graduate Acting Program.
