Doctoral Psychology Intern
- PsyD in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School, Chicago IL
Clinical Interests and Areas of Expertise:
My clinical interests include supporting individuals with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, substance use and addiction difficulties, struggles with self-criticism and perfectionism, self-esteem, and identity formation. I am also interested in working with couples.
Theoretical Orientation:
I work primarily from an Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) framework, but often integrate other methods and techniques. EFT is a person-centered approach that integrates experiential techniques that I believe can create lasting positive change.
My Approach to Therapy:
In my approach to therapy, I prioritize building a warm, non-judgmental space. As we begin to work together, I value forming a collaborative understanding of the concerns that clients bring and how best to solve them. Through primarily focusing on clients' emotional experience, I work towards transforming the bad feelings and pain that hold clients back so that they may develop more satisfying relationships and a more fulfilling way of being in the world. I also hope to support clients in exploring their intersecting cultural, racial, sexual, and gender identities that are core to their being. I am committed to creating a space where individuals from all walks of life feel heard, supported, and comfortable being their most authentic selves.
Personal Interests:
Outside of work, you might find me spending time at the beach, hiking, swimming in the ocean, watching Bravo, spending time with friends & family, lifting weights, or exploring the San Diego food scene!
