There is no charge for group counseling. If you have any questions about the groups offered from Student Wellness, please call the Counseling Center at (619) 260-4655 or fill out this interest form. You may also contact the group’s facilitator directly to learn more.
Come connect with your fellow graduate and law students to build community, share experiences, and explore the challenges and successes that accompany grad life. Lunch is on us! RSVP with group facilitators at least 24 hrs ahead of the meeting time to pick your lunch order.

Rainbow Process Group (RPG) is a small, confidential, and safe psychoeducational counseling group exclusively for currently enrolled students (both undergraduate and graduate students) in the LGBTQ+ community. Each session will offer space for connection, wellness skill-building, and reflection. We will meet every other week for the spring semester. Dinner will be provided!

Empower is a wellness group for Black-identified USD undergraduate and graduate/law students. This space will create opportunities to actively foster self and community care, discuss health equity concerns, and connect over the experience of attending a PWI. Together we will work towards cultivating Black joy, learn strategies for wellbeing, increase mindfulness for racial healing, and identify ways to care for our community.

Military Support Group aims to provide a supportive space for current USD students who are active duty and veteran service members. This group offers community to explore challenges as a military-connected student, transitioning from service to classroom environments, and other topics related to being a nontraditional student. Co-sponsored by Military and Veterans Program (MVP) and Associated Student Government. Lunch will be provided!

Grief Support Group is a weekly group for current undergraduate and graduate/law students coping with the death loss of a loved one. Each session will include education on grief, activities to encourage reflection, and a safe space to share and process your experience. Find support as you navigate grief, honor your loved one and move towards healing.
Meetings will begin in February and will be held weekly.

Sober Circle is a space where students gather in an alcohol-free environment to manage their lives without substances and build community. All undergraduate and graduate/law students who are 18+ are welcome. Students can be at any stage of their sober journey or recovery. Dinner provided!

Coping with Stress - Virtual Modules
How are you dealing with stress in your life? This virtual module series is for any USD undergraduate, graduate/law, or PCE student wanting to improve their relationship with stress and anxiety. This convenient series can be accessed online anytime for self-paced exploration of different skills for managing stress. You can listen along or click through slide decks to learn about the skills, and access additional resources to support healthy stress management.
