Doctoral Psychology Intern

  • M.A., Clinical Psychology
Clinical Interests and Areas of Expertise: Anxiety, Adjustment, Identity, Interpersonal Relationships, using skills from across different treatment types, especially Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and DBT.

Theoretical Orientation: I use an integrated approach to therapy, meaning I draw ideas for case conceptualization and treatment planning from many different therapeutic styles to try to create the best fit for the client's particular wants and needs. I primarily draw from a CBT, DBT, and feminist/multicultural lens.

My Approach to Therapy: The idea of going to therapy can be intimidating, so I want our sessions to be a place where you feel safe to be yourself and to share or explore anything you want, while also feeling comfortable and confident enough to challenge yourself to grow and change in order to meet your goals. Additionally, I am committed to being a lifelong learner of inclusivity, social justice, and allyship. To me, this means that I do my best to be aware of my privileges and blind spots and am committed to being open to change. I do my best to provide compassion, support, and respect for each individual’s lived experience by considering the role of systemic factors such as racism and oppression in mental health concerns and overall well-being.

Personal Interests: Cooking, trying new restaurants, reading at the beach, travelling, hanging out with friends
