License/Certifications:
Associate Clinical Social Worker
Clinical Interests and Areas of Expertise:
Religion/spirituality, grief, international students, life transitions, anxiety and stress, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem
Theoretical Orientation:
Person-centered and strengths-based approach drawing primarily from cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy modalities. I believe in a "care for the whole person" approach and use a biopsychosocial-spiritual framework.
My Approach to Therapy:
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as a social worker at USD. I believe that we all have strengths and that each person is the expert of their own life. In my therapeutic approach, I strive to create a warm, welcoming, collaborative, and safe environment where students can be themselves and grow.
Additional Responsibilities/Designations:
I am able to provide intake, individual counseling and consultation, and care coordination services for USD students. I also provide clinical pastoral counseling for students who would like religion/spirituality to be a part of their therapeutic experience. Additionally, I co-facilitate the grief support group and support wellness outreach efforts.
Personal Interests:
I love traveling to new places, going on sunset walks, watching musical theatre, and spending time with family and friends.
