Clinical Interests and Areas of Expertise: Positive Psychology and Strengths-Based Assessment, Severe and Persistent Mental Illness, Anxiety/Stress Management, Adjustment Issues, Identity Development, Latinx Mental Health Support, Interpersonal Issues, and Risk Assessment and Safety Planning
Theoretical Orientation:
I work from a primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy orientation informed by strength-based, multiculturally sensitive, and humanistic perspectives. I also practice integrative approaches to therapy in order to best serve the student I am working with.
My Approach to Therapy: I believe we can all cultivate our personal strengths and am grateful for the opportunity to join students on their growth journeys. I enjoy working with folx from all backgrounds, including Latinx, BIPOC, multiracial/multicultural, LGBTQIA+, and low-income students. I strive to support every person who enters my office with a welcoming space to be yourself and work to create a safe environment for all students. I commit to being an ally and partner to our BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities, to use my privilege to uplift the voices of those who have experienced oppression, and to be open to continued learning and growth to support our community.
Additional Responsibilities/Designations:
I provide intake, individual counseling and consultation, triage, and care coordination services for USD students. I also serve as Wellness Groups Coordinator and facilitator for the Graduate Student Support group, support outreach presentations, and serve on the Counseling Center's Training Committee. I have also previously facilitated Good Vibes: A Positive Psychology Group and the MEPN Student Support Group.

Personal Interests: Watching the wind blow through leafy trees, cooking, running, Marvel movies, naming my plants, and my amazing dog Clara-Belle.
