Soroya (they/them/theirs) is the Executive Assistant for the Department of Environmental and Ocean Sciences.  They are a 2009 graduate of USD with a major in Theatre Arts. During their time as a student at USD they worked for Copley Library and Residential Life in addition to singing in the Founders Chapel Choir and performing in numerous plays with the Theatre Arts department. Soroya comes to us with a strong background in customer service, events management, education and interdisciplinary collaboration. They have served as the Patron Services Manager for the Cygnet Theatre in Old Town and as a Teaching Artist for The Old Globe Community Voices Project. Soroya was a resident guest artist at Arizona State University and worked with ASU’s School of Film, Dance and Theatre to produce a piece in collaboration with ASU’s School of Earth and Space Exploration on the future of Mars research. Soroya is a co-founder of the community-based theatre company Circle Circle dot dot, who’s mission is to tell true stories based off of interviews with real people in our community.
