Art History

A discipline with a history

Art History at USD is a discipline with a history, and students examine the historical and theoretical frames that have shaped its definition over time. Over the course of their college careers, students of art history are equipped to think and write with precision about art, architecture and visual culture.

With four intertwined pathways and a myriad of on and off-campus resources for research and experience, the study of art history provides opportunities for interdisciplinary, multicultural and contemporary inquiry.
