Mission Statement
The mission of the Black Alumni Network (BAN) is to unite, connect and advance Black alumni at USD. A key part of this mission is collaboration. In collaboration with other Black organizations on campus, BAN seeks to enhance and build community with key individuals on and off campus.
About BAN
BAN intends to play a pivotal role in creating a protected environment for the USD Black community, which includes alumni, students, faculty and staff. BAN will positively impact the USD Black community by:
- Advocating for the concerns of Black alumni and community
- Developing events and programs of interest to Black alumni and community
- Increasing participation from Black alumni by utilizing their time, talents and treasures
- Supporting the retention of current Black students and assist with the recruitment of new students
