Drop Shadow

What do you get when you mix Buzzfeed, celeb tweets, and Fox5 San Diego TV News?

#WhatsTrendingUSD is a dialogue series that brings students, faculty, and staff together to discuss hot topic current events, sociopolitical issues, and pop culture that are trending in the news and social media.  Example discussions range from the effects of FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil to the impact of the "D" requirement at USD.  We will use social media to poll and engage the USD community through #WhatsTrendingUSD.

Don't miss out USD!  Rock your soapbox (and fill your lunchbox as food will be provided) on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 12:30-1:30pm at SLP 418.

Multicultural Night

This annual event brings different traditions, cultures, and talents that make up the USD community. Everyone is invited to enjoy delicious cultural cuisine and enjoy talented performances from various multicultural student organizations. Previous performances include singing and spoken word as well as traditional and contemporary dances from the Philippines, Mexico, Hawai'i, Spain, and India. "It is through the arts, the sharing of our traditions without any stigmas or stereotypes, that the beauty of unique heritages and cultural distinctness can be most easily transmitted and appreciated."

The Annual National Conference On Race and Ethnicity in American Higher Education (NCORE) focuses on the complex task of creating and sustaining comprehensive institutional change designed to improve racial and ethnic relations on campus and to expand opportunities for educational access and success by culturally diverse, traditionally underrepresented populations. This year's conference is being held in Washington D.C. on May 26 - 30, 2015. To apply please click here.
For more information about the conference visit the NCORE website.
