Discipline Colloquia Proposals
The Office of Undergraduate Research is seeking proposals for discipline-specific colloquia for the 2025-2026 academic year that complement the Pechakucha-style Creative Collaborations that was introduced in Spring of 2024. Funding of up to $1000 to support a colloquium (or conference) will be considered. Funding for up to three colloquia is available. The colloquium should include multiple departments, and typically include a broader discipline area like humanities, engineering, social sciences, etc. The vision of these awards is to fund a student presentation format that meets the needs of particular discipline areas, which varies significantly across campus. Furthermore, the Pechakucha-style format is designed to give students an opportunity to present their research to a broad audience, where the discipline-specific colloquia will give students the opportunity to present in a format that is well-suited for their discipline. Students can also use the Pechakucha-style format to invite the audience to the upcoming discipline colloquium.
