Eligibility, Program Commitment, and Enrollment
To be eligible to apply, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A currently enrolled full-time undergraduate student (12 units per semester) or approved academic accommodations by the DLDRC.
- A currently enrolled full-time graduate student (9 units per semester) or approved academic accommodations by the DLDRC.
- A current or former foster youth at any time during grades K-12
- A current or former ward of the court
- Under legal guardianship
- Certified independent youth (unaccompanied/emancipated minor)
- Experienced homelessness as a youth (under the age of 18)
- Submit FAFSA application
Program Commitments
Each Torero Renaissance Scholar (TRS) is committed to:
- Meeting with their coach once a month during the academic year.
- Participation in at least two programs per semester is required. Programs typically last 1-2 hours, are held in person on campus, and often take place on Tuesdays or Thursdays during lunchtime.
- Respond to TRS Google calendar invites with your availability to participate.
- Respond to emails and texts within 24-48 hours.
- Check-ins with Torero Renaissance Scholars Graduate Assistant (once per semester).
Enroll for the Torero Renaissance Scholars Program
