Climate Action Plan

USD's 2016 Climate Action Plan (CAP) is currently being revised to better support the university’s climate goals. The updated plan will include a set of carbon reduction strategies focused on transportation, waste management, land use, and others, along with a set of recommendations as to how USD can integrate sustainability within its academic offerings, expand its environmental justice efforts, and increase its environmental partnership with the City of San Diego.

Energy Master Plan

In 2021, USD completed an Energy Master Plan (EMP), providing a roadmap to reduce the campus’s energy use by implementing a variety of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, such as adding 2.5 megawatts of new solar power and battery energy storage by 2025.
