When did you begin your graduate program?
Fall 2023
Expected Graduation Date
Spring 2025
What is your educational and professional background?
I graduated in Spring 2023 from UCLA with a Bachelor's in Psychobiology. While at UCLA, I worked as a research assistant in the School of Public Health. The team I was a part of worked on global violence prevention, and I primarily focused on violence prevention on college campuses. I also volunteered as a coach in a program that provided online Cognitive Behavioral Therapy modules for college students in Los Angeles.
Why did you choose USD? What made USD stand out in comparison to other schools with a similar program?
When I was originally looking into where to apply, I was drawn to the schools that had COAMFTE accreditation. This was the primary reason that I began to research more about USD. After attending informational sessions and talking with ambassadors, I was drawn to the sense of community and the support that students and faculty gave.
What do you hope to do after grad school?
I hope to work with adolescents and young adults, particularly those transitioning out of their childhood home.
Are you currently working? If so, do you work full-time or part-time, and what do you do?
I am not currently working.
What are you most excited for as you begin your program?
I am really excited to explore how this program will shape my interests in the field. This program offers so many sites with emphasis on different areas. As this is my first year in the program, I look forward to continue learning and growing as a therapist.
What advice can you share with prospective applicants?
Do not hesitate to reach out for support! Applying to graduate school can seem intimidating, but there are so many resources to support you.
