The Character Education Resource Center provides resources that support schools and school districts' implementation, maintenance and evaluations of their character education efforts and programs.

Courses

Undergraduate and graduate students can choose elective courses in character education.

Professional Development

Educators may earn a specialist certificate in character education through USD's Division of Professional and Continuing Education.

Character Education Development Certificate

Enhance your skills in this essential yet often overlooked discipline. With a Character Education Development Certificate, you will apply best practices to plan, deliver and assess character education in the classroom. Take an individual course or work toward earning a certificate with multiple courses.

2024 Character Matters Essay Contest

Each year students demonstrate increasing sophistication in all aspects of language use from vocabulary and syntax to the development and organization of ideas. Participation in this contest supports the Common Core Standards in English Language Arts and Literacy.

Winners of the essay contest will be announced on April 12.
