Center for Restorative Justice

Supporting Communities to Repair Harm and Rebuild Trust

Our Mission

The Center for Restorative Justice is a hub for education, research, and practice, preparing a diverse community of students, professionals and practitioners to lead with empathy, build and strengthen relationships, and address harm through inclusive, healing-centered approaches.

David Karp, PhD
"At our Center, we recognize that restorative justice is an emerging global movement with many traditions and approaches. It embraces personal and community empowerment, collaboration, and personal accountability to address harm and strengthen relationships."
―David Karp, PhD, Co-Director, Center for Restorative Justice
"Restorative justice invites us to lean into the art of relationship building and to do the hard work of repairing what has been broken through interpersonal and historical harm. In doing so, we have the power to transform pain into healing and cultivate the hope that our world so deeply needs now."
―Karla Broady, MA, Co-Director, Center for Restorative Justice

Training Leaders in Restorative Justice

The Center for Restorative Justice at the University of San Diego’s Kroc School equips individuals and organizations with the skills to repair harm, build trust, and strengthen communities. Through our Master's in Restorative Justice, professional certificates and trainings, and community partnerships, CRJ advances the practice and understanding of restorative justice across schools, workplaces, and justice systems.
