Team Coaching Certificate

Elevate Your Coaching

This certificate trains individual coaches who intend to work with teams. It caters to those who have completed coach training and are seeking to advance their professional development. The program uses a systems psychodynamic approach to team coaching. It incorporates foundational knowledge to develop coaches' abilities to perceive teams and their dynamics in new and insightful ways.

This experiential, practice-based program includes peer-to-peer and client coaching; participants are supported through faculty observation of their team coaching with in-depth developmental feedback.

Details and Requirements

Before you begin your application, here is a list of documents you will need to submit:

  1. Proof of Prerequisite
  2. Resume
  3. Statement of Purpose (500 Word Max): Write a brief narrative describing yourself, your career goals and the importance of being trained as a team coach. Share who you are and why you are applying to the Team Coaching Certificate program at USD.

Coaching Courses

These costs do not include the estimated cost of $1,500 to receive coaching supervision as a part of the requirement for the certificate from USD.

Foundations of Team Coaching

Schedule:

Fridays: 5:30-9 p.m.
Sept. 5, Oct. 3, Nov. 14, Dec. 5

Saturdays: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Sept. 6, Oct. 4, Nov. 15, Dec. 6

All sessions are held in person at USD. Attendance is required.

Cost:

$3,495 standard rate
$3,000 discounted rate for USD Leadership Coaching Certificate alumni

Human Relations for Leaders*

Schedule:

Jan. 6: 6-9 p.m. - Conference Orientation
Jan. 9: 9 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
Jan. 10: 9 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
Jan. 11: 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Jan. 13: 6-9 p.m. - Conference Debrief

Notes:

Participants from outside of San Diego County may arrange to participate in the orientation and debrief virtually.

Cost: $495 - $600

*If you are a USD alum or graduate of the USD Leadership Coaching Certificate who has previously taken LEAD 551: Human Relations for Leaders, or if you have already attended the Leadership for Change Conference, you do not need to retake it for the Team Coaching Certificate.
