Master of Arts in Teaching with Teaching Credential(s)
In just 14–24 months, students can earn a MAT in Curriculum and Instruction with the option to obtain two credentials in Elementary or Secondary and Education Specialist credentials. This streamlined pathway prepares future educators for the challenges of teaching and equips them with the knowledge, skills and qualifications to excel in the classroom from day one.
Following a cohort model course sequence, students can choose to pursue the following pathways:
Masters and Credential(s) Pathway
Earn both a general education credential (multiple or single subject) and an education specialist credential (MMSN). Through student teaching in both general and special education settings, students gain hands-on experience and develop the skills to teach in diverse classrooms.
Earning dual credentials enhances employability, as graduates are qualified to teach in both general and special education classrooms.

Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this program, graduates will be prepared to make a meaningful impact in the classroom by:
Demonstrating specialized field knowledge as they integrate knowledge and technology across content areas and use differing perspectives to engage all learners in critical thinking, creativity and collaborative problem solving related to authentic local and global issues.
Applying theories of learning, instruction and motivation relating to the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, physical and moral development of all learners; evidenced by developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences implemented in an inclusive learning environment.
Incorporating assessment and technology in their planning and instructional strategies as a means of obtaining continual feedback used to improve student learning, classroom management strategies and pedagogical approaches.
Utilizing and generating meaningful research on pedagogical practices, student learning and educational issues and policies to actively investigate and consider new ideas that will improve teaching and learning and advance the profession.
Exploring effective approaches for creating inclusive learning environments that are welcoming and accepting of diverse learners and students with learning differences who, because of gender, language, cultural background, differing ability levels, disabilities, learning approaches and/or socioeconomic status may have academic needs that require varied instructional strategies to ensure their learning.
Engaging in critical reflection on how their own frames of reference and potential biases impact expectations for and relationships with learners and their families.
