PROGRAM TRACKS

SASC offers two unique tracks for graduate students: Apprenticeships and Fellowships.

Both provide practical experience, mentorship, and professional development in student affairs. Explore each track below to find the best fit for your goals and academic program.

Funding:

  • Earn a minimum hourly rate of $18.55/hour with paid accrued sick-time
  • $10,000 tuition scholarship per academic year

Eligibility:

Enrolled in the MA Leadership Studies program or PhD in Leadership Studies program

Benefits:

  • $150 professional development funds
  • Structured mentorship opportunities
  • Professional development workshops
  • Quality supervision by Student Affairs campus leader
  • Participation in a Leadership/Service Project

Commitment:

  • Fellowship students may be required to enroll in a program specified course as a companion to this experience. Consult your advisor.
  • Average of 20 hours a week in Graduate Assistantship role within designated Student Affairs office
  • Participation in cohort-based leadership development activities

After reviewing all the roles, complete the application to express your interest and rank the positions you'd like to be considered for.

Wait for an offer to interview

If selected, you'll participate in a 30-minute interview with a panel of supervisors and be considered for all the GA positions you expressed interest in.

The 2026 application cycle is not open yet.

April / May

Virtual interviews are conducted on a rolling basis, and applicants will receive interview confirmations through their USD email.

Early May

Priority application deadline for Fellowship applicants only. *Applications will still be accepted on a rolling basis after the priority deadline.
