To address the needs of diverse communities beyond our local and national boundaries, all SOLES students participate in a program-approved international experience outside of the United States. Students can choose from a variety of enriching experiences to complete the international experience requirement.

The Global Center is a valuable resource for students preparing to study abroad. With over 20 short-study international experiences around the world and on six continents, students earn graduate credit for their degrees while engaging with other cultures and multiple perspectives and studying the impact of globalization.

Whether it's a trip to across the border, volunteering with refugee communities or a short-term course halfway around the world, the international experience is not just a requirement: it's an opportunity.
What we are experiencing is more than gathering qualitative data or even connecting readings to real-life experiences. It is about being present for real-time transformative thinking and understanding that it cannot come from words on a page or a voice through a video. It comes from having face-to-face interactions and internal exploration.
