Repatriation Committee
The repatriation committee oversees the implementation of Policy 2.12, Repatriation of Cultural Heritage Materials. The committee includes the Repatriation Manager, USD's Tribal Liaison, the Director of University Galleries, faculty members from adjacent academic disciplines, a student representative, and tribal partners. The committee provides an annual report of preparation and disposition activities, as well as decisions and actions regarding NAGPRA/CalNAGPRA and USD's holdings to the Provost and University Senate.
NAGPRA Repatriation Manager
The NAGPRA Repatriation Manager works to advance the initiatives of a culturally-responsive and informed campus by ensuring USD’s compliance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) federal regulations and CalNAGPRA’s state regulations.
