In April of 2024, we celebrate 10 years of research excellence here at the University of San Diego. We invite you to take part in all of the activities that Research Month has to offer; to celebrate of all the progress that has been made, and all that is to come.

The Office of Sponsored Programs presents the four part "Research at USD" video series dedicated to celebrating 10 years of research excellence on campus. University of San Diego students and faculty discuss why research opportunities on campus are important and how it can better prepare students for their futures.

History of Research Excellence at USD
2024 marks the 10-year anniversary of celebrating research excellence across campus. What started as a single wine and cheese reception with the University President in 2014, quickly evolved into "Research Week" in 2015 as a week for faculty and students to showcase their ongoing research projects. In 2016 the Office of the Vice President and Provost collaborated with the Office of Sponsored Programs to host an intimate luncheon with Deans and University leadership to begin recognizing individuals on campus who hit certain research milestones.
From there, Research Week continued growing from 2016 through 2021 until it no longer could be contained to one week of showcases and events, and in 2022 the University expanded the celebrations throughout the month of April, beginning "Research Month" at USD.

2024 Five Million Dollar Club
Recipients are faculty and administrators who have brought in a cumulative of at least five million dollars in external funding through the Office of Sponsored Programs during their tenure at USD.
