The University of San Diego (USD) celebrated the beginning of the fall semester with its annual Mass of the Holy Spirit inside The Immaculata on Sept. 12.

In Spring 2023, the USD Board of Trustees adopted updated vision and mission statements for the university. This year, USD celebrates 75 years as an anchor institution — 75 years being a part of the community and 75 years working alongside its neighbors near and far to make the world a better place.

The University of San Diego (USD) presented Cardinal Robert Walter McElroy with a Laudato si’ Fellows Award following his keynote address at the university’s Lighting the Way Forward Conference inside the University Forums on Jan. 11.

On Fri., Jan. 28, 1994, the USD community gathered inside The Immaculata to usher in a new tradition intended to celebrate diversity — the All Faith Service. Under the guidance of then-Reverend Msgr. Brent Eagen, vice president for Mission and Ministry, the service was designed to kick off the spring semester similar to how the Mass of the Holy Spirit begins the fall semester. 

Each December, USD invites the campus community and the public at large to gather in Founders Chapel to enjoy "Lessons and Carols," an Advent celebration to prepare for Christmas that dates back for more than one hundred years and is followed around the world in a multitude of different places.
