Toreros Go Global: Jamaica
Seven student-athletes spent eight days in Duncans working alongside community partners
Seven Torero student-athletes spent eight days in Duncans, Jamaica this summer on Toreros Go Global, an immersive service-learning program run in partnership with USD's School of Leadership and Education Sciences and the Mulvaney Center. The group worked alongside local organizations and community leaders, contributing through athletics, mentorship and youth engagement while pairing the service with structured reflection and team-based problem-solving. Making the trip were Mathias Bauer (men's soccer), Nemo Beach (volleyball), Khalil Cueva and Emiliano Salazar (football), Lily Dow (cross country/track and field), and Tamia Graham and Chloe Walls (women's soccer). Mya Johnson, USD's assistant athletic director for student-athlete development, people and culture, and John Loggins, the Mulvaney Center's director of community engaged learning, led the trip.
