Justice 250 Celebrates Freedom & History Aboard the USS Midway

Join USD alumni, faculty, staff, and friends to kick off the 4th of July holiday weekend early with an unforgettable evening on the bay aboard the USS Midway. Celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation's birth and the foundational role of the U.S. Constitution.
Fast forward 250 years, Justice 250 celebrates the history of our nation, our judicial system, and its role in our democracy and the rule of law. There is no better setting to mark the occasion than on top of the Flight Deck of the USS Midway.
USD School of Law is proud to be an official Partner in Justice for this historic gathering. Representatives from USD's Legal Clinics will host a dedicated on-site booth to showcase USD's incredible work in expanding access to justice.
While most Americans think of July 4, 1776, as our date of independence, it was actually on July 2, 1776, that the Continental Congress declared our nation’s freedom from the King of Great Britain. This momentous vote set in motion the signing of the Declaration of Independence two days later and laid the groundwork for our U.S. Constitution.
