Celebrating the Graduating Class of 2026: LaTasha Webb
LaTasha Webb is graduating from the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science with a master’s entry program in nursing (MEPN) degree.
Webb’s first inspiration to become a nurse began in 2018 when she got a call that her grandmother was on life support.
“I visited her in the ICU. That is when I got my first inspiration when I saw the nurses and saw how well they did with my grandmother and how caring and nurturing they were. And, I’m happy to say that my grandmother is still here in 2026,” said Webb.
Webb served 21 years in the U.S. Navy before nursing school and credits her military experience to building a foundation for her. She had been up for a senior chief opportunity in the Navy but when she didn’t get it – she knew it was time for something new.
“It wasn’t even a sadness, it was a feeling of peace. And, I went to my husband and I asked him one question: ‘Do you think it would be crazy of me at my age and stage in life to want to become a nurse?’ and he looked at me and said, ‘I think you would be an amazing nurse,’” said Webb.
At 42 years old and with three kids, Webb enrolled in nursing and says she often struggled with “mom guilt” while in school. But, she says she hopes by going back to school, she is teaching her kids that hard work pays off and it is never too late.
Webb’s dream job is to work in the ICU in critical care where her dream of being a nurse began, when she witnessed her grandmother in the hospital under the care of supportive nurses.
