At the Edge of it All: Serving the Community Through Mental Health Support

In this week's episode of "At the Edge of it All," Amanda Cuellar (DNP, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC), clinical associate professor in nursing, talked about her journey working as a nurse in her hometown in the Imperial Valley and how she quickly learned that her region lacked mental health resources, inspiring her to earn her doctorate to fill this gap. Cuellar also shared her emotional journey donating her kidney to a best friend, and a fellow nurse, when he was in a moment of need. Finally, Cuellar discusses the importance of preventative care and why everyone should get annual check-ups.
