This is your USD News Minute.

Last week, USD introduced our new men’s basketball head coach JR Blount. The campus welcomed Blount to his new home during a press conference in front of the Palomar Health Student Wellness Center. Blount comes to us from Iowa State. He said he’s excited to be a part of Torero Athletics, and plans on being a visible member of the campus community. 

Applications are now open for USD’s President for a Day. It’s your chance to swap places with President Harris, learning what it’s like to lead a university for a day while President Harris takes your classes. The deadline to apply is April 7th. Visit the website to learn more.

Starting Wednesday, the university will begin road work to install a storm drain near the Belanich Engineering Center, along Camino San Diego Road. This project is expected to continue through May 1 and will lead to temporary changes to traffic patterns on Camino San Diego Road. During working hours, flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic.

Student Tickets Have Gone Digital for USD Athletic Events

Welcome back to another exciting season of Torero athletics! Student ID scanning is officially a thing of the past—all student game access has moved to digital passes. While the ticketing system has changed, one thing remains: Students still get into all USD home athletic events for free, all year long! Make sure to download and save your pass to your phone's digital wallet before game day by following the simple steps below. Option 1: USD Toreros App Download the USD Toreros App on your phone. Open the app and select Tickets at the bottom of the screen. Select Manage Tickets. Sign in using your SanDiego.edu email address. (If you are waiting for a verification code after logging in, please check your spam folder) Select My Access Pass. Select Add to Wallet. Follow the prompts to save your pass to your digital wallet. Option 2: Online Go to usdtoreros.evenue.net on your phone. Sign in using your SanDiego.edu email address. Select the three lines in the upper-left corner. Select My Account. Select My Access Pass. Select Add to Wallet. Follow the prompts to save your pass to your digital wallet. Need Help? If you do not see your My Access Pass or have trouble accessing your pass, please contact the USD Ticket Office for assistance. Please note: Student IDs will no longer be scanned for entry. Students will need to claim their digital ticket in order to gain entrance to USD Athletic events.
