Introducing the New USD News Center and MyPostings

What’s New? Everything!

By Joy Brunetti

USD is pleased to announce the launch of the redesigned USD News Center and the new MyPostings system, a comprehensive update that transforms how content is created, managed and experienced across the USD website.

This release introduces a modern interface, powerful new tools and a more flexible publishing workflow designed to better support storytellers and content managers across campus.

The USD News Center

The USD News Center has been completely reimagined to make discovering and highlighting content easier and more intuitive.

  • A new customizable hero area provides greater flexibility in showcasing featured content, with the ability to highlight one, three or five posts and adjust them as needed.
  • Enhanced search and filtering tools allow users to quickly find relevant stories and personalize their viewing experience.
  • All schools now have access to their own News Center landing pages, enabling them to customize how their stories are presented and giving units greater flexibility with their content.

New Posting Form

Content creation has also been significantly upgraded through the new MyPostings system.

  • A redesigned posting form introduces a live preview feature that allows users to see exactly how their content will appear before publishing, eliminating guesswork and reducing revisions.
  • In addition to news and events, users can now create richer content types such as photo essays, podcasts, and videos.
  • The system leverages USD’s design system, known as Camino, to ensure consistency across posts while still allowing for layout customization.
  • A drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to reorder components within the form, and a built-in image uploader allows photos to be added and placed directly into posts in real time.
  • A new “Your Posts” view also gives users a clear overview of where their posts are in the workflow and their current publication status.

New Management Dashboard

Behind the scenes, managing and approving content is now faster and more streamlined.

  • A refreshed management interface allows users to search across all posts by title, keyword, author or post ID.
  • Contact management has been cleaned up to eliminate long, unwieldy lists.
  • New notification controls give users the ability to manage when and how they receive email updates.

Refreshed Web Feeds

As part of this release, web feeds showing news, events, profiles and more across the entire USD website have also been refreshed, ensuring a consistent, modern presentation of content wherever it appears.

Online Training

To ensure a smooth transition, users are required to complete a brief, on-demand training before gaining access to the new system. The training is available online and must be completed along with a short accompanying quiz and an access request.

Together, the new USD News Center and MyPostings system represent a major step forward in how stories are shared across the university, offering a more intuitive, flexible, and powerful platform for communicating what’s happening at USD.
