USD College Corps
The #CaliforniansForAll College Corps is a historic state-level investment in service that creates debt-free pathways for students who commit to serving in their communities for an academic year.
USD’s undergraduate students who complete 450 hours of service through the College Corps will receive up to $10,000 to help pay for college. Service-learning placements will be targeted in the following areas:
- Environmental Stewardship: maintaining shared spaces and natural resources, hands-on activities
- Food Insecurity: community garden, food/nutrition support, volunteer engagement
- K-12 Education: subject-specific tutoring, homework support, mentorship
- Community Health: homelessness and housing insecurity support, blind or low vision individuals support
What we’re looking for?
College Corps fellows must demonstrate a high level of motivation and community focus and will work with one of three focus areas during their time as a fellow. Enrolled students from across programs and majors are welcome to apply for the College Corps fellowship and will earn funding in exchange for their service during a full academic year.
- Complete a total of 450 hours of service between August 2026 and May 2027.
- Commitment to community and leadership develop
- Actively participate in required trainings, cohort meetings, and bi-weekly timesheet submissions.
- Engage in service initiatives as assigned.
- Up to $10,000 (pre-tax)*
- $7,000 Living Stipend (provided in monthly installments)
- $3,000 Education Award (upon completion of 450 hours for program)
Students looking to apply must meet the following:
- Must be 18 years or older by the start of your service term
- Must be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States or AB-540 eligible Dreamer
- Must hold a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Cumulative GPA of at least 2.8
- Must be an undergraduate student enrolled at USD
- Must be and remain in Good Academic Standing
You must also meet one of the 4 following criteria:
- Qualifies for a Federal Pell Grant
- Qualifies for State Cal Grant
- Qualifies for Middle Class Scholarship
- Needs to work part time and/or borrow student loans to meet educational costs
- Priority Application Deadline: March 15, 2026
- Final Application Deadline: May 1, 2026
- Application Review / Candidate Interviews: February - May 2026
- Fellow Selection Deadline: May 30, 2026
- Fellow Enrollment: May - June 2026
