At the University of San Diego School of Law, the Academic Success Fellows Program offers dedicated support for achieving your academic goals and demystifying the class exam process. As a first-year law student, you will have the opportunity to partner with upper-division Fellows who have excelled in the USD School of Law required first-year courses. Their understanding of the course material and familiarity with the professors ensures you will receive relevant guidance to succeed.

Engage with the Fellows Program by attending weekly office hours for individualized assistance or joining study group sessions. Fellows provide structured lesson plans and target resources for doctrinal classes, setting the stage for academic advancement.

The Fellows Program promotes active intellectual engagement with peers to strengthen your academic efforts and inform your future career in the law. Our Fellows Program is more than just academic support; it's a community.

Meet Your Academic Success Fellows

Get acquainted with the dedicated student mentors in the University of San Diego School of Law Fellows Program. These accomplished second- and third-year students have demonstrated excellence in their academic pursuits. Their commitment and leadership play a pivotal role in helping first-year students and upper division students enrolled in Issue Spotting & Legal Analysis to thrive.

Jacqueline Days

Con Law I - Rappaport

Jacqueline Days is a third year student from Woodbridge, Virginia. She earned her B.A. from the University of Washington, double majoring in International Studies and Political Science while also earning Interdisciplinary Honors. At USD, she is a member of the San Diego International Law Journal, a competitor on the Client Advocacy Team, and studied abroad in Barcelona in Fall of 2024. During 1L, she volunteered for the Legal Aid Society of San Diego at the Domestic Violence Clinic and then spent her 1L Summer working in the Domestic Violence unit of the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in Tacoma, Washington. In her spare time, Jacqueline loves to travel, read, and make arts & crafts.

Sophia Knapp

Property - Wiggins

Sophia is a second-year student from San Diego, CA. She earned her B.S. in Strategic Communication, with minors in Business and Spanish, from Texas Christian University. At USD, she is a member of the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (VICAM) and an associate member of the San Diego Law Review. This past summer, Sophia worked at a civil litigation firm, and next summer, she will join Foley & Lardner as a 2026 summer associate. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing at the beach.

Regan Lambeth

Contracts - D. McGowan

Regan is a third year law student originally from Sacramento, California. She went to Tulane University in New Orleans where she received a B.A in Economics and a B.S.M in both Finance and Management. At USD her favorite extra circular is playing on her Intramural Softball team. She is also a member of the Moot Court team and the Climate and Environmental Law Journal. Her 1L summer, Regan was a certified legal intern for the San Diego City Attorney's Office. In her free time, you can find Regan outside enjoying the sunshine.

Charlotte Lu

Contracts - Spector

Charlotte (she/her) is a second-year law student from Orange County, California. She earned her B.A. in Economics with double minors in Literature and Political Science from the University of California, San Diego. At USD Law, she is an Associate Member of Moot Court and volunteers with the Name and Gender Marker Change Clinic. She previously interned at Hoffman & Forde, and is currently a judicial extern for the Honorable Michelle M. Pettit of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Charlotte is dedicated to civil rights-oriented legal work and hopes to pursue a career in affirmative enforcement. In her free time, she enjoys reading, yoga, and dog-sitting for her friends.

Michael Lutzky

Contracts - Ferruolo

Michael is a 2L from Richmond, Virginia. Prior to law school, he earned his B.A. in Mathematics from Yeshiva University and practiced as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California. At USD, he is an Associate Member of San Diego Law Review and Treasurer of the Jewish Law Students’ Association. This past summer, he served as a law clerk at RJS Law, where he worked on Trusts and Estates. He will join Cooley LLP as a summer associate in the corporate department in the summer of 2026. Outside of law school, he enjoys participating in trivia nights, going for hikes, or watching a good basketball game.

Hana McAnally

Contracts - Petrucci

Hana is a third-year Juris Doctor candidate from Carlsbad, California. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of San Diego with a B.A. in English. During her 1L summer and 2L fall semester, Hana served as a law clerk at a civil litigation firm in San Diego. In her 2L year, she interned at the Workers' Rights Clinic and externed for the Honorable Andrew G. Schopler at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. She spent her 2L summer at an employment law firm focused on class action litigation and has continued working there as a 3L. In her spare time, Hana enjoys crocheting, reading, and spending time with friends.

Ellie Murray

Property - Kern

Ellie is a third-year student from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She received her B.A. in International Politics with Honors from Penn State University where she was the Captain of the Varsity Swim & Dive Team. At USD, she is on the board of the First Generation Legal Professionals (FGLP) and has externed at the District Court for the Southern District of California with Judge Todd Robinson. Ellie has also clerked at the US Attorney’s Office in its Civil Division and is hoping to pursue a career in corporate transaction law post-bar. She enjoys swimming, surfing, biking, and running.

Becca Parker

Property - D. McGowan

Becca is a third year law student originally from Indiana. She went to Tulane University in New Orleans where she received a B.S.M in Finance and a B.A. in International Relations. At USD her favorite extra circular is playing on her Intramural Softball team. She is also a member of International Law Journal and volunteers at the East County Restraining Order Clinic. During her 1L summer, Becca was a legal intern for the District Attorney's Office. This past summer she worked at a civil defense firm focusing on personal injury and employment law. As of now, she is interested in criminal law, immigration law, or transactional work. In her free time, you can find Becca outside enjoying the sunshine, hanging with friends, or cheering for the Chicago Bears.

Lily Rafanan

Con Law I - Schwarzschild

Lily is a second-year law student from Granite Bay, California. She received her B.A. Sociology with minors in political science, philosophy, and law and society from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. During her 1L summer, she worked as a judicial extern at the United States District Court for the Southern District of California and as a research assistant for Professor Shawn Miller. Lily is an associate editor of the San Diego International Law Journal and an associate member of the USD Appellate Moot Court Board. Lily will join Cooley’s Business Litigation practice as a 2026 2L summer associate, where she is excited to pursue a career in complex civil litigation. In her free time, Lily enjoys exploring San Diego beaches and restaurants, running and hot yoga, and spending time with friends.

Amber Rahim

Property - Bell

Amber is a third-year student from Orange County, CA. She received her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Leadership Studies from Chapman University where she graduated summa cum laude. At USD, she is a member of the San Diego Law Review, Moot Court, and FGLP. Her 1L summer, Amber was a judicial extern for the Honorable Steve B. Chu at the District Court for the Southern District of California. Amber is interested in pursuing a career in civil litigation. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, spending time with her family, and exploring San Diego.

Maria Watters

Con Law I - M. Ramsey

Maria is a third-year law student from Denver, Colorado. She received her B.A. in psychology and political science from the University of San Diego in 2022. Before coming to law school, Maria worked as a paralegal in an employment litigation firm. At USD, Maria is a member of the San Diego Law Review. Maria spent her 1L summer externing for the Honorable Janis L. Sammartino at the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. Outside of the classroom, Maria enjoys going to the beach, cheering on the Denver Broncos, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Ty Yee

Con Law I - Claus

Ty is a second-year student from Los Angeles, California. He received his B.A. in Education/ Human Development and French Language & Culture from UC Riverside. Prior to law school, Ty worked as an elementary school teacher and received his M.S. in Education and Special Education from Johns Hopkins University. During his 1L summer, he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Magdalena Reyes Bordeaux in the Central District and worked as a law clerk for Cozen O’Connor. At USD, Ty is actively involved with Moot Court, International Law Journal, PrideLaw and SBA. In his free time, Ty enjoys playing dodgeball, yoga, and spending time with his dog.
