In alignment with USD’s mission and values, IRE cultivates a data literate campus community which makes decisions informed by accurate, relevant data to propel the university to successfully achieve its goals.
To accomplish this mission, IRE performs the following functions:
Ensure the integrity of official institutional data; Guide interdepartmental collaboration to promote improved business processes; Lead institutional data governance efforts.
Oversee our institutional accreditation with the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC); Ensure compliance with WSCUC standards and policies; Lead institutional efforts on defining and collecting evidence of post graduation student success.
Coordinate and support academic program review; Collect, analyze, and interpret evidence of student learning to assess and improve student learning and teaching; Ensure academic processes support academic planning and comply with current policies; Integrate USD’s strategic plan with important institutional quality processes (e.g., accreditation, assessment, planning, and budgeting)
Collect, maintain, and display official data for internal and external constituents via a robust, interactive website; Respond to internal and external requests for data, analysis, research, and special projects; Promote and sustain data literacy among the campus community.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation mandates by reporting official institutional data and maintaining currency of USD academic policies and processes; Monitor and comply with state authorization requirements.
Coordinate large-scale surveys and administer, analyze, and report results for institution-wide decision-making.
