Reaffirmation and Interim Report
USD has been continuously accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) since 1956. After a Fall 2021 institutional report and on-campus site visit, in 2022, USD's accreditation was reaffirmed for another 10-years per the Commission's official action letter. USD's next reaffirmation will take place in 2031.
An interim report will be due in March 2025. USD will need to provide WSCUC an update on its progress on the following:
- Advance the Renaissance Plan to reduce deferred maintenance of campus facilities.
- Develop transparent institution-wide strategic planning and aligned budgeting processes that support shared governance and faculty and staff engagement, prioritizing institutional capacity and educational effectiveness.
- Ensure timely and systematic program review and a process for aligning core, program, and institutional outcomes, to assure continuous improvement for every program.
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for distance education that prioritizes educational effectiveness and institutional alignment.
- Measure and understand the impact of campus climate for staff, students, and faculty to effectively engage in implementing diversity, inclusion, and social justice strategic actions.
- In alignment with USD's strategic goals, increase the diversity of tenured faculty and develop appropriate goals for recruiting and retaining minority tenure-track faculty.
IESI will work to support USD in the advancement of these priorities.
