Social Well-Being

Social well-being is the ability to relate to and connect with the people in our community.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary, employee-led groups whose aim is to foster employee engagement and community across campus. They provide a space for staff, administrators and faculty to come together around shared identities and interests in order to network, build relationships, support one another and share resources. ERGs are open to any employee who has an interest in learning more about the issues, challenges, goals, and culture of the group represented by the ERG.

Torero Employees Connect (TEC)

The purpose of Torero Employees Connect (TEC) is to provide opportunities for employees to feel engaged, valued, and connected. These are key elements that improve the employee experience and foster a culture that enhances the well-being of the USD community.

We are introducing the Torero Employees Connect (TEC) Journey Book, which will allow you to record all the ways you are connecting with USD and other Toreros. The more stamps you have, the better chance you have of winning some great prizes!

TEC (Torero Employees Connect) Fest

Employees are one of USD's most valuable assets. The university recognizes that employees do make a difference. As a way to express its appreciation, the university holds an annual employee celebration for all faculty, staff and administrative employees and their families. The event is filled with entertainment, games, contests and delicious food.

Employee Recognition Awards

The Employee Recognition Awards encourages peers and supervisors to look across campus and identify and support such employees. From our Catholic identity, the core values at USD include Academic Excellence, Knowledge, Community, Ethical Conduct, and Compassionate Service.

The objective of the awards is to create role models and communicate noteworthy accomplishments, to reinforce behaviors important to the university, and to increase morale by recognizing extraordinary employee contributions.

Service Award Program

The Service Award Program is designed to recognize employees for service beginning with their fifth year of service. Employees celebrating five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty five, thirty, thirty five and above years of service are recognized at the Annual Fall Employee Service and Recognition Awards Luncheon.
