Training

Annual training is required by PCI requirement section 12.6 for all university personnel involved in department credit card operations. Training will be delivered as follows:

Who Should Participate?

  • Personnel NEW to a departmental credit card operation, or new to credit card operations
    • Email compliance@sandiego.edu with new employee name and email address and they will receive the email invitation to complete the appropriate CampusGuard PCI DSS online training within 5 days
  • Staff as directed by Responsible Directors of merchant operations
  • Staff wishing to supplement departmental compliance materials delivered to departments

Customized PCI training opportunities are available throughout the year, upon request or as recommended or mandated by the Office of Finance for certain credit card departmental merchants with complex, or high-risk credit card operating environments. PCI Training and Validation

Welcome to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, (PCI DSS), Training and Validation resource and information page. Beginning in 2020 the required annual training and validation process will be delivered by our PCI DSS Compliance Advisors, CampusGuard®.

If your job responsibilities include processing payment card transactions, managing or overseeing areas that process payment card transactions, coordinating events using third party software for registrations including payments or are involved in the technical side of payment card reader devices, Ecommerce sites, or network systems that service card payment transactions, you are required to complete the PCI DSS Training and Validation process annually.

If you have not received an email from Compliance or CampusGuard® inviting you to complete the training and validation process and your responsibilities include any of the above, please contact the PCI DSS team at compliance@sandiego.edu to be registered for training.
