
Director, Treasury & Financial Systems
Steven Heath joined the University of San Diego in 2001 and currently serves as Director, Treasury and Financial Systems. Reporting to the Vice President and CFO, Mr. Heath's responsibilities include management of the Treasury and Financial Systems portfolio which includes oversight of the Treasury, Financial Systems, Accounts Payable and the Torero Travel and Expense Teams. Treasury manages the university's cash flow and short, intermediate and long-term investment portfolios, including management of the University’s endowment portfolio and related reporting. The Treasury team is the direct liaison with the Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees and the University's global investment research and consulting partner, Cambridge Associates. Additionally, the Treasury team is responsible for data security standards for all credit card terminals on campus, also known as Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) compliance. Financial systems is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the university's financial systems, including Workday, Hyperion EPBCS, Noetix, Concur, Unimarket and Transact Campus. Accounts Payable processes the university's cash disbursements to suppliers and employees for expense reimbursement. The Torero Travel and Expense team manages the university’s travel program and Onecard credit card programs, administered through the SAP Concur platform.
From 2001 to 2010, Mr. Heath served as Accounting Analyst and Corporate Card Administrator in the USD Controller’s Office. From 2011 to 2012 Mr. Heath served as Senior Financial Analyst and from 2013 to 2018 served as Treasury and Financial Systems Manager. In 2019 he was promoted to his current post. Prior to 2001, Mr. Heath worked for Universal Solutions International in an accounting supervisory role, and for Catholic Charities of Chicago as a corporate accountant. Mr. Heath studied accounting at Loyola University of Chicago.
