The Center for Inclusion and Diversity (CID) is a hub that brings together faculty, staff and students who are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice. In our efforts to further develop and amplify the important work and research happening on campus, the CID is seeking Faculty Fellows. Fellows will receive an incentive to pursue a research project in collaboration with the Center. Projects will range in scope from planning the annual Mosaic Diversity Research Symposium to developing leadership and professional development workshops for campus constituents to grant writing. Membership as a CID Faculty Fellow is open to current USD associate or full professors, whose teaching and/or research activities involve the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice.

- Fellows increase our collective impact of diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice work and provide a supportive scholarly environment for colleagues and students.
- Fellows will expand the CID’s reach by organizing programs, initiatives, conferences and other related activities, which foster interdisciplinary contacts, connections and collaborations.
- The CID will amplify Fellow research on its website, social media and in the larger campus and local community.
- Fellows will be granted an incentive (release time, stipend, or some other incentive).
- While the CID offers no stipend associated with being a Faculty Fellow, Faculty Fellow’s Dean and Chair may offer an incentive in the form of course release or stipend for participation.
Commitments
- Participate in 2 CID events each academic year
- Provide information about publications, awards and research/project updates to be highlighted on the CID website and inclusion in the annual Diversity Report
- Serve on committees, co-organize events, participate in the annual Mosaic Diversity Research Symposium
- Acknowledge CID in conference papers and published work that was supported in some way by the CID
- 3 - year commitment to serve as a Faculty Fellow
Become a Faculty Fellow
Faculty members interested in becoming affiliates should submit a membership application. Applications will be accepted on a quarterly basis.
The Director of the Center for Inclusion and Diversity will review all application materials submitted. Applicants will be notified of selection within 3 weeks of submission. For questions, please contact the Center for Inclusion and Diversity, at cid@sandiego.edu.
