Day-of Instructions for Graduates

GRADUATES should arrive 60-90 minutes before the ceremony. Please bring a printed copy of your graduate ticket.

  • Commencement ceremonies are approximately two hours in length. There is no rehearsal for commencement ceremonies.
  • Graduates should leave valuables such as purses and keys with family members or guests.
  • Graduates should arrive dressed in cap and gown and proceed to the Graduate Entrance located behind the Jenny Craig Pavilion, by the loading dock and entrance to Fowler Park. Upon arrival, your ticket will be scanned before being directed to line-up for the processional.
  • Once in the graduate area, look for the sign with your School/Department name and head in that direction. Candidate marshals will be standing by to assist you.
  • During the ceremony, a candidate marshal will direct graduates to the platform when it is time to proceed across the stage.
  • Grad Images will take a photo of each graduate on stage and email a photo proof to you. You can view your proof online within two business days at GradImages.com. You are not required to purchase photos and your personal information will not be sold.
  • At the conclusion of the ceremony, please follow the guidance of the candidate marshals on how to recess out of the arena.

Cap and Gown

Every graduate is required to be dressed in cap and gown at Commencement. For those who have not received regalia, you may visit the Torero Store an hour and a half before the ceremony to purchase a cap and gown. Supplies will be limited.

All ceremony gowns must be fully zipped in order to participate in the ceremony on stage. You may decorate the top of your cap to commemorate the celebratory nature of the occasion. Cap decorations cannot obstruct the view of others. Candidate marshals reserve the right to remove and confiscate any decorations deemed offensive or inappropriate.

Ceremony Photography

Grad Images Photography takes photographs of each graduate on stage during the commencement ceremonies. Graduates are sent proofs of the photographs via email and/or text after the event. Proofs will also be sent via postal mail. You will have the opportunity to purchase prints after you have seen your proofs. If you have any questions about your ceremony photographs, please contact Grad Images’ Customer Service Department at (800) 261-2576, online at gradimages.com, or by email at ecc.giservice@gradimages.net.
