Each February, the Center for Ethics, Economics and Public Policy (CEEPP) hosts their annual SoCal Philosophy, Political Science and Economics (PPE) colloquium. The colloquium is an intensive, day-long discussion that provides opportunities for intellectual development, networking and idealogical exploration. Each discussion is based on a set of readings, distributed in advance, covering topics in philosophy, politics and economics. Previous colloquiums have discussed issues of effective altruism, immigration and the history, as well as politics, of policing. Past colloquiums have also welcomed students from Chapman University, Pomona College and the University of California at San Diego. Discussions are led by USD faculty, including CEEPP Director Matt Zwolinski, Associate Professor of Political Science Tim McCarty, PhD, Professor of Economics Stephen Conroy and Assistant Professor of Philosophy Jennifer Tillman, PhD.
